OHS Announcements:

Next year’s musical production will be WEST SIDE STORY you know you are a star let us give you the opportunity to show it!  Auditions will be held on May 2nd there is a sign-up sheet on the theatre room door (E-107).  Sign-up!  Mrs. Aland and Mr. Fellman need your talents!

Sports physicals for the 2014-2015 sports season will start next Tuesday at OHS. The cost is 10$. Physical packets will be handed out this week. Physicals will be needed for summer activities so get them done now for cheap. Contact Omar fercha for any questions

The Astronomy department is STILL looking for volunteers to help with Knights at Night.  Join us to help direct people to the activities at the school.  A trip to the planetarium is the reward, but you must attend the meetings to qualify.  If you are interested, go visit Ms. Pope in G204 or come to the meeting during lunch on Tuesday the 22nd. 

Onate’s Key Club is sponsoring a team to raise money to fight birth defects.  The March of Dimes walk will be Saturday, April 26 at 8:00 at Young Park.  You can help save a child’s life by sponsoring a Key Club member or joining the team.  For more information contact Corazon Cardenas or Mr. Grossklaus in H-212.

Would you like to see the stars?  Onate High School presents Knights at Night, an event hosted by the Science department. This event will feature telescopes outside for viewing objects, a short enlightening lecture, and star display inside our planetarium.  School organizations will also be on hand with fun activities.  So join us for this stellar event on April 24, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm at the back of the school and come see what’s in the sky.

Seniors---It is not too late to apply for scholarships!  There are 9 NEW scholarships just added in the Guidance Office. 

Attention Seniors and Juniors!  Want to apply for a scholarship, but not sure how?  There are so many scholarships to apply to!  Workshops will be offered before school, at lunch, and after school.  Just come to the Guidance Office to sign-up!

Technology Student Association meets every Tuesday during lunch in room c101. If you are interested in joining come by or see Mr.  Misquez.

The DECA Black Market Cafe -The Black Market Cafe is OPEN.  Every morning in room A112. Serving Cappuccino and Hot Chocolate. Come stop on by and support our DECA Knights!!!

The after school distance learning computer lab will now be OPENED on Friday’s starting this week until further notice.  If you have further questions stop by B107 and talk with Ms. Medina.  If you need to use the after school lab come by B107 Monday through Friday 3:30pm until 5pm.

Key Club will be meeting every Tuesday at Lunch in H212. Members please come to discuss important  info.

Crochet Club meets on Mondays in room J210. All materials will be provided. Crocheting is cool, so come join!!

Come join the Modern Language Club next Tuesday at lunch in Room C-109 and learn how you can travel aboard to Europe.

The DECA Student Store - The Black Market is OPEN.  This year The Black Market will be OPEN during LUNCH on Monday's - Wednesday's & Friday's.  Come stop on by and support our DECA Knights!!!

The Science Bowl team will practice at lunch on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's in Room F210.   New, interested students are welcome.

DECA will be meetings are Tuesday's @ 8am in B107.  For more information please see Ms. Medina or Mr. Waugh.

Please join us for the combined meetings of MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement) and BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) in room E-105 every Wednesday and Thursday!  There is something for everyone!  Please see Mr. Evans in room E-105 for more information!

2014 yearbooks are on sale. You can buy your yearbook online. See Ms. Guerrero in room D101 for more assistance. Get yours now at $70 before the price goes up and before they sell out!
